Are You Watching the Clock?
But you must not forget this one thing, dear friends: A day is like a thousand years to the Lord, and a thousand years is like a day. The Lord isn’t really being slow about his promise, as some people think. No, he is being patient for your sake. 2 Peter 3:8-9
God may not be early, but He's never late!
Have you ever watched the clock? Whether you are at work, in a class, or maybe even at church, lol? I believe we've all glanced at the clock in anticipation of the clock striking a certain hour.
We can tend to watch the clock when we are waiting on God to fulfill a promise. What are you waiting for? Your soul mate? The right job? Financial provision? A breakthrough? Healing? Your time to step forward in ministry? Starting that business?
After watching the clock AND the calendar for days, weeks, months, or maybe even years, it's easy to feel like God has either forgotten or don't care. But He does care, more than you realize and He has NOT forgotten. In fact, your hour is coming - but like the above Scripture says - God is being patient for OUR sake.
So often we THINK we are ready for what we are wanting, but we are NOT. And we feel like the delay is God's denying us, but in fact He is developing us. He will NOT give us something that will destroy us due to our immaturity, unhealed emotions, or irresponsible decision-making. He just won't. So if what you are waiting for hasn't happened, YET - keep trusting and keep being obedient. And you may want to stop watching the clock. Maybe that's the very thing God wants you to do....take Him off of your time table. :)
Remember, what may FEEL like a thousand years to us, is actually one day to God. Ha! So let's be
patient. Let's allow God to grow us up. Allow Him to prepare you for what you are asking or believing for. At the appointed time, He will either give you what you are desiring or something BETTER!
Amen????? Amen!!!!
