Do it Afraid, But Just Do It!

Just Do It!

I've said it before and I will keep saying it. If you are waiting to do what God told you because you are hoping that obedience erases fear, you will never move, act, or speak!

There are times when God gives me a command and fear immediately sets in. Fear is a normal emotion that alerts us we are about to do or encounter something that is outside of our comfort zone and even outside of our normal capability.

Fear lets us know we are embarking on something that's bigger than us. It's not a bad thing to FEEL it. It's a reminder of how much we need God. But THEN, I have to remind myself that there is NO FEAR in [God's] perfect love (1 John 4:18). God will not command me to do something and leave me ill-equipped. He will NOT leave me hanging. But often times, the equipment will not kick in until AFTER I have stepped out of the boat, let go of the relationship, decided to switch careers, etc. In other words, Peter had to STEP OUT OF THE BOAT to know he could walk on water. Sometimes we have to DO WHAT GOD SAID first and THEN our help (assistance) will show up.

Whatever it is that you've been putting off: I encourage you to stop with the excuses. You KNOW what God said, but you've allowed fear to hinder your forward progress.

Even if you are afraid, it's time to DO IT. If you are going to be scared, be afraid to MISS what God has for you. Like Nike says, "Just Do It."

You can do ALL things through Christ (Philippians 4:13).
