You are STRONGER than your SITUATION!

And He got up and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, "Hush, be still." And the wind died down and it became perfectly calm. Mark 4:39

In the above Scripture, Jesus tells the winds and the sea to chill out and they do. Wouldn't it be wonderful if Jesus would simply step into the midst of ALL of our storms and immediately cause them to cease?

As tempting and even welcoming as that may sound, we can't avoid storms (rough patches) in our lives. They are inevitable. But when we view them with the RIGHT perspective, we can LEARN FROM them and GROW IN them.

The image above states that storms test our anchors. In other words, storms will reveal who or what we are REALLY placing our trust in. Our anchor is our FAITH in God and faith isn't faith until it's tested! A faith that is tried and true produces perseverance (James 1:3). Faith is like a muscle. You can be in the gym all day long, but it's not until you lift something you couldn't lift before that you realize you've become stronger. It's not until you overcome something today that previously overwhelmed you in the past that you realize your faith in God has grown.

We all face storms in our lives. You are either in a storm right now, just coming out of one, or are about to face one. Regardless to where you are in the "storm spectrum" never lose sight that you are NOT ALONE in the storm. When the disciples became scared, they forgot WHO they had on the boat with them.

Sometimes, God will calm the storm and other times, He will calm His child in the midst of it. Whichever way God chooses, He will not leave you hanging. But He will allow you to be challenged so you NEVER FORGET how much you need Him and that HE is the ONLY one who can give you what you need. For those of you who are going through a storm right now (relational, marital, children, financial, health, emotional, etc.), let's pray:

Heavenly Father, I admit that I become concerned when it seems like the wind and the sea is raging against me. Sometimes it feels like my boat (life) is about to flip over and I am fearful of drowning, getting hurt, and being disappointed. I acknowledge that fear is NOT of you and I choose to cast it down. I choose to trust YOU. I don't know how you will deliver me from this, but I trust that you will. Until the answer, provision, restoration, relief, etc. comes, help me to draw closer to you, help me to stay grounded in your Word so my faith can be strengthened, and help me stand firmly on Your promise that the weapons will form, but they will NOT prosper. I pray these things in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen and amen.

It is our prayer that you spoke that prayer out loud. If you would like us to agree with you in prayer, please contact us (info@annmariabenton.com). We would be HONORED to lock our shield of faith with yours.
