Don't Leave Home Naked!
Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil.
Ephesians 6:11
None of us would ever consider leaving home naked. At least I hope not. We make sure we have our undergarments on, our outer garments, our makeup (women) and those other things that are essential for making us publicly appropriate.
If we were to leave home completely naked, we would probably only get a few blocks away before the Police would frantically pull up on us and probably try to baker act us. lol. That's because in the natural world, it makes sense to be fully dressed when we leave the privacy of our home.
Well how about in the Spirit, when you leave the privacy of your prayer time, prayer closet, etc.? Do you realize it's just as essential to put on our spiritual clothing? Do you realize that once you receive instruction, correction, comfort, confirmation, direction, strength, clarity, wisdom, and courage from God - the devil becomes enraged! He can't touch us when we are in God's Presence, but the MINUTE we leave, he starts plotting and planning.
That's why the Bible instructs us to put on the WHOLE armor. Not some parts of it, but ALL! Put on your BELT OF TRUTH and the BODY ARMOR of GOD'S RIGHTEOUSNESS. Lace up your SHOES OF PEACE that comes from the Good News so you will be prepared. And don't stop there. Grab your SHIELD OF FAITH to stop the fiery arrows from our enemy! Put on your HELMET OF SALVATION, and don't forget your SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, which is the Word of God. We need the WHOLE outfit, y'all. Don't be in a hurry that you leave half-dressed.
We are in a DAILY battle not just for our own lives, sanity, and purpose, but also for those around us (spouses, children, siblings, parents, friends, etc.). We are fighting for them too, just like they are fighting for us. The ARMY OF GOD in full effect.
Don't allow the devil to find you half-dressed, half-stepping, or half-committed. Be intentional and get suited up daily. KNOW that no matter how messy the battlefield may look, and how tired your arms are from holding up that sword and shield: the VICTORY IS ALREADY YOURS!!!
