Are You Being Robbed?

Matthew 6:27

When I was younger, someone broke into our home more than once.

It never felt good. Things were taken from us, but the greatest losses were our peace, our joy, and our sense of protection. We felt physically, emotionally, and mentally robbed.

In Matthew Chapter 6, Jesus tells us about another kind of thief. The thief of worry and anxiousness. It's a powerful tool in the hands of the enemy that is subtle, but it's effective.

As I prepared to share that message on Facebook and Instagram LIVE this morning, I realized I had fallen prey to that very thief last night. I was tossing and turning over a situation that I say I am trusting God with, yet I was rehearsing scenarios in my mind.

Have you been there. Are you there now.

There is a difference between worry and concern.

Concern is a human emotion that signals something needs our attention, prayer, and wisdom from God. It should lead us to a place of relying on God.

Worry is different. Worry signals that something is wrong, and instead of turning to God, we reach into our bag of tricks, plans, and past experiences. We try to take matters into our own hands through self‑reliance.

Full transparency. I tossed and turned last night over a situation I say I am trusting God for. Yet I was rehearsing outcomes and trying to figure out how I could shape the result I wanted. I repented quickly because I have lived long enough to know that I want what God wants for me. Even if He closes a door in my face, I trust Him.

Many of us place God on time restraints. We try to dictate how and when our prayers are answered. That is not faith. That is not trust.

I encourage you today to pause for self‑examination. Reflect on a situation, a need, or a provision you are asking God to intervene in.

Ask yourself:

  1. Have I taken matters into my own hands.

  2. Am I truly waiting on and trusting God.

As you answer those questions, take a moment to watch this video: The Silent Thief. I believe it will open your eyes and strengthen your resolve to keep seeking and trusting God for His way and His timing.

Don't allow the thief of WORRY to rob you of God's peace, joy, and the blessings that come from totally relying upon Him.
